Sheridan and Tri-Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Generals will venture away from home to square off against the Scotties at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Utica hit Sheridan with a five-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Generals lost 9-3 to the Redskins. The game marked the Generals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Sheridan got a good showing from Austin Cannon, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Sheridan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Hupp, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 21 runs the game before, Tri-Valley was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They came up short against Dover, falling 7-1. The Scotties' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Tri-Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Sheridan, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-2.

Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Sheridan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Tri-Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .448. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Sheridan couldn't quite get it done against Tri-Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Generals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
