Basketball Recap: Sparks Takes a Loss

Sparks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 51-38 to the Mineral County Serpents. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Railroaders of the 63-51 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Mineral County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aspin Stockwell led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeden Majano, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Sparks' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mineral County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Sparks didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-27 defeat against Pyramid Lake on the 6th. As for Mineral County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-24 victory against Beatty on the 6th.
