Basketball Game Preview: Northeastern Jets vs. Fairbanks Panthers

Northeastern is 0-10 against Fairbanks since December of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Northeastern Jets will host the Fairbanks Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Northeastern is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since December 9, 2023 on Monday. They skirted past Greenon 51-48. The score was all tied up 27-27 at the break, but the Jets were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Fairbanks put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Southeastern Local with a sharp 67-41 victory. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Fairbanks pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Northeastern, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Things could have been worse for Northeastern, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-28 loss to Fairbanks in their previous matchup back in January. Can Northeastern avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
