Recap: Ocala Christian Crusaders vs. Shorecrest Prep Chargers
The Ocala Christian Crusaders and the Shorecrest Prep Chargers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Ocala Christian Crusaders had to settle for second. Ocala Christian was outmatched by Shorecrest Prep on the road and fell 35-8. Ocala Christian's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Nickolas Bearden was his usual excellent self, rushing for 99 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 95 yards and a touchdown. Bearden was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
Ocala Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Shorecrest Prep, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record.
Ocala Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Shorecrest Prep has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Donahue Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Donahue Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
