Basketball Game Preview: Manistee Chippewas vs. Montague Wildcats

Manistee hasn't had much luck against Montague recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Manistee Chippewas will host the Montague Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Manistee earned a 54-41 win over Hesperia.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montague). They claimed a resounding 71-42 victory over Newaygo. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Manistee's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Montague, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7.

Manistee came up short against Montague in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 32-27. Can Manistee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
