Camp Point Central came out on top against Mendon Unity on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Panthers put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 11-1 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Emma Stephens made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Lauren Miller was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Claire Huston was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Camp Point Central's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Mendon Unity, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Camp Point Central is taking a road trip to challenge Brown County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mendon Unity, they will welcome Griggsville-Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
