Basketball Recap: Haedyn Cox Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Logan/Palco

Northern Valley lost to Logan/Palco two weeks ago, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Northern Valley Huskies walked away with a 51-43 win over Logan/Palco.

Northern Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haedyn Cox, who posted 17 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The dominant performance gave Cox a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Cox, who went 8 for 14 to rack up 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Northern Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Logan/Palco lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hailey McClurg, who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and five assists. Lylah Voss was another key player, putting up seven points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

Northern Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Logan/Palco, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Northern Valley has already played their next contest, a 56-52 victory against Weskan on the 8th. As for Logan/Palco, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-34 win against Triplains/Brewster on the 8th.
