Soccer Game Preview: Artesia vs. Goddard + Official Tickets

The Artesia Bulldogs will square off against the Goddard Rockets at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Artesia is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Goddard better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Artesia's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Artesia really gets things going. The Bulldogs' defense stepped up to hand Portales a 4-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Artesia have won by exactly four goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Goddard was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lovington by a score of 1-0. The shutout was out of character for Goddard seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Goddard has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9-2 record this season. As for Artesia, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3.

Artesia beat Goddard by a goal in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 2-1. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
