            Baseball Recap: Charlottesville Black Knights vs. Orange County Fighting Hornets        
        
		
        
        
            Charlottesville came into this matchup off a tough six-run  defeat last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Orange County Fighting Hornets by a score of  9-7 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  loss the Black Knights have suffered  since April 23, 2024.
Charlottesville got a good showing from  Julian Mark-Williams, who   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Mark-Williams has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Abe Jaspen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went a perfect 3-for-3 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles. Another player making a difference was  Mason Divers, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for Charlottesville and  nudges their season record down to 7-4. As for Orange County, their record now sits at 6-8.
 Looking ahead, Charlottesville will square off against Fluvanna County at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Black Knights will need to watch out since the Flying Flucos have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last three matchups. As for Orange County, they will face off against Albemarle at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
