Softball Game Preview: Whitmer Panthers vs. Airport Jets

For the second straight game, Whitmer will face off against Airport. The Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Jets at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Whitmer is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

On Saturday, Whitmer came up short against Airport and fell 7-4.

For Airport's part, Emma Wehrs and Brooklyn Martin did most of the damage at the plate: Wehrs went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Martin went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Wehrs a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenna Baker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Airport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Whitmer's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Airport, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
