Recap: River Dell Golden Hawks vs. Memorial Tigers
The River Dell Golden Hawks were the 39-35 winner over the Memorial Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. River Dell fell 52-42 to Memorial on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, River Dell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Memorial is ranked 85th).
Several Golden Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aditya Pandya, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. Sean Golden was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
River Dell has fallen quite a ways from their 21-7 record last season and are now at 1-3. As for Memorial, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
River Dell is on the road again on Friday and play against Secaucus at 12:00 p.m. on December 29th. Secaucus is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against Orange at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Orange is on a three-game streak of home losses, Memorial a four-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
