Baseball Recap: Melbourne Triumphs

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Melbourne and Astronaut had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bulldogs walked away with a 4-1 victory over the War Eagles on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Collin Heaney looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Melbourne's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Ayala, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Melbourne's record now sits at 15-7. As for Astronaut, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Melbourne will venture away from home to face off against Eau Gallie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Astronaut, they will challenge Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
