Softball Recap: Jasper Eagles vs. Archie Whirlwinds
Jasper was the 15-5 winner over Archie when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Whirlwinds on Thursday, falling 14-4.
Crystal Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Addie Atnip, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Jasper dropped their record down to 5-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Archie, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jasper will challenge New Heights Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Archie, they will take on Leeton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Whirlwinds will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
