Basketball Recap: New Bern Bears vs. J.H. Rose Rampants
New Bern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 51-37 to the J.H. Rose Rampants. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 38-34 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.
J.H. Rose's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alaya Clemons led the charge by putting up 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kahrin Highsmith, who posted nine points along with seven boards and three steals.
