Volleyball Recap: Layla Norrell Key Part of Team Effort in Blue Devils Win + How To Watch

Columbus had won three straight road games and Emma Cicora did her part to make it four on Thursday. Everything went the Blue Devils' way against the Central Red Devils as they made off with a 3-0 victory with plenty of help from Cicora, who had 33 assists and four digs. She has been hot, having posted 21 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Columbus walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-13, 25-19.

Columbus' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layla Norrell, who had eight digs and one assist. That's the most digs Norrell has posted since back in August.

Columbus now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Columbus will challenge McIntosh at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Central, they will welcome Beauregard at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
