Baseball Recap: Passaic Takes a Loss

Passaic blew Clifton out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Clifton got their revenge. The Indians fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Indians couldn't push the score so high this time.

Randis Rosario and Franklin Pena stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rosario went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Pena went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. Pena has become a key player for Passaic: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise.

Passaic's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Clifton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Passaic will square off against Manchester Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clifton will be paying especially close attention to the Indians' game: after the Indians face off against the Falcons, they'll take on Clifton again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
