            Baseball Recap: Converse Wildcats vs. Negreet Indians        
        
		
        
        
            Converse's game  last Monday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Tuesday. They never let the Negreet Indians get on the board and left with  a   12-0  victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous   matchup.
 Cameron Durr made a splash no matter where he played. He  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and not a single walk). He also  tossed  no  walks, which is notable because Converse is 3-1 when he allows at  most  two  walks, but 4-6 otherwise. Durr was also stellar in the batter's box,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and one  triple. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in March of 2024.

 In other batting news, Converse let  Eli Smith and  Mavrick Mitchell run wild. Smith  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and one  run, while  Mitchell  scored two  runs and  stole  Two bases. while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. Converse is 4-1 when  Mitchell posts two or  more  stolen bases, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of  Justin Reed, who  scored a  run and  stole  Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
 Converse was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .462. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Converse is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record  this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.8 runs over those games. Negreet's defeat was  their fifth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 2-10.
 Coming up,  a feisty cat fight will be fought as Converse Wildcats  face off against  Doyline Panthers at 5:15  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Negreet, they will square off against Florien at 3:15  p.m.  on Thursday.
