The Immaculate Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Brookfield Bobcats at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Brookfield took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Immaculate, who comes in off a win.
Immaculate's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Staples as they made off with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won five games by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Sophia Schnatz's shutout, as she gave up just two hits.

At the plate, Laurel Pucci was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Maddie Costa was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Immaculate was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .348 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Brookfield faced Norwich Free Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bobcats fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Bobcats' loss signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.
Brookfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lila Conrad, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Immaculate has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Brookfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-2.
Both Immaculate and Brookfield just can't seem to miss. The Mustangs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Brookfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Immaculate couldn't quite get it done against Brookfield in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
