Preview: Floresville Tigers vs. Pleasanton Eagles
The Floresville Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pleasanton Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
Last Friday, Floresville was just a hair shy of victory and fell 22-21 to Rockport-Fulton. Floresville gained 68 more yards on the day, but it was Rockport-Fulton that made the best of use of them.
Adrian Wilson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Pleasanton had to suffer through a rough 40-7 loss at the hands of La Vernia. While losing is never fun, Pleasanton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 699th, while La Vernia is ranked 245th).
Floresville's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.3 points per game. As for Pleasanton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Floresville suffered a grim 35-14 defeat to Pleasanton when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Floresville have more luck at home instead of on the road?
