Baseball Recap: Ty Harvey Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Palmetto

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Inspiration Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Palmetto Tigers by a score of 5-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since May 11, 2024.

Jackson Bradley tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Inspiration Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Harvey, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Inspiration Academy's record now sits at 6-1. As for Palmetto, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coming up, Inspiration Academy will square off against Central Pointe Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Palmetto, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lakewood Ranch at 7:00 p.m. Palmetto is facing Lakewood Ranch at the right time seeing as Lakewood Ranch is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
