Softball Recap: Devine Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Devine waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls). With that win, the Warhorses / Arabians brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Tucker Traylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Reece Schueling and Karsyn Deleon did most of the damage at the plate: Schueling went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Deleon went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Deleon has posted over her last 15 matchups. Sam Zamora was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Devine's victory bumped their record up to 13-8-1. As for Uvalde, they dropped their record down to 7-10-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Devine didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-2 win against Carrizo Springs on the 12th. As for Uvalde, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 21-2 loss against Somerset on the 12th.
