Recap: Elkton Golden Elks vs. Chesapeake Bay Hawks
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Elkton Golden Elks walked away with it. They blew past Chesapeake 54-14 at home. Considering Elkton has won three matchups by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Josh Brill was a one-man wrecking crew for Elkton as he rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 56 receiving yards. Brill was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. Another player making a difference was Solomon Pope, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Elkton's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Tyree Brown and his two sacks.
Elkton's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Chesapeake, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-10.
Elkton will square off against Harford Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chesapeake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
