Weslaco waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They escaped with a win against the Edinburg Bobcats by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Bobcats back in January, they had to take a 56-53 loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Weslaco to victory, but perhaps none more so than Pete Cantu, who went 5 of 6 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kai L Fino, who posted 13 points and six boards.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brayan Martinez, who earned 20 points and five rebounds. Axel Navarro was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Weslaco is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. As for Edinburg, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 25-9.
