Baseball Recap: Waldwick's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Waldwick had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 9-13 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Cresskill Cougars by a score of 9-5. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Cougars back in April, they had to take a 9-0 defeat.

As for Cresskill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9-1 record this season. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9-1.

For Cresskill's part, Tyler Manarang was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Manarang is becoming a predictor of the Cougars' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Joe Connelly also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Looking ahead, Waldwick will take on Tenafly at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cresskill, they will be playing at home against New Milford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
