Softball Recap: Fremd Comes Up Short

Fremd made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Barrington, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Vikings fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Broncos: they've now lost five in a row.

Fremd's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7-1. As for Barrington, their win was their 26th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 32-0.

Coming up, Fremd will square off against Riverside-Brookfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Barrington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
