Basketball Recap: Quran Lighty Key Part of a Team Effort in Hurricanes Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Forest, Lake Weir was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Belleview Rattlers by a score of 39-31. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-31 last Friday.

Lake Weir got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Quran Lighty out in front who posted 11 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Lighty a new career-high in points. Antonio Jackson was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Lake Weir's record is now 11-7. As for Belleview, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Lake Weir didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-59 loss against Lakeland on the 18th. As for Belleview, they will face off against North Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
