Football Recap: Kennedy Takes a Loss

Kennedy lost against Tottenville back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Sunday. The Knights lost 42-16 to the Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Pirates are ranked fifth).

When it comes to explaining why Kennedy lost, don't look at Amadou Samake. Despite the final result, he rushed for 71 yards and one touchdown, and also caught one TD.

Kennedy's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Tottenville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Looking ahead, Kennedy will welcome South Shore at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.88 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Tottenville, they will head out on the road to face off against Curtis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' defense has only allowed 9.4 points per game this season, so the Pirates' offense will have their work cut out for them.
