Volleyball Recap: Fort Atkinson Comes Up Short

Fort Atkinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Whitnall Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blackhawks of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2019.

Fort Atkinson actually scored more points across those five sets (99-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 10-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-17, 15-10.

Fort Atkinson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Whitnall, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Fort Atkinson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Mount Horeb on the 23rd. As for Whitnall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Waukesha South on the 20th.
