Basketball Recap: Caston Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

Caston had won three straight road games and Logan Mollenkopf did his part to make it four on Thursday. The Caston Comets narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the North Miami Warriors 64-61 with plenty of help from Mollenkopf, who shot 59% from the field en route to 23 points and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played.

Gavin Mollenkopf was another key player, as he made all 6 shots he took to post 14 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why North Miami lost, don't look at Jacob Riley. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 33 points and 15 boards. What's more, Riley also posted a 44% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Ryan Meredith, who posted six points and ten rebounds.

Caston is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. North Miami has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
