Softball Recap: Millbrook Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Millbrook extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 5-4. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Leesville Road Pride. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 on Wednesday.

As for Leesville Road, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 3.5 runs.

For Leesville Road's part, Grace Stauffeneker and Brooke Gleicher stepped up to the plate in a big way. Stauffeneker went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Gleicher went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That RBI was Stauffeneker's first of the season. Avery Goodwin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millbrook will welcome Wake Prep Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Leesville Road, they will be playing at home against Enloe at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pride's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
