Basketball Recap: Rogers Piles Up the Points Against Bethel

A well-balanced attack led Rogers over Bethel in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Rogers Rams blew the Bethel Bison out of the water with an 85-53 final score. With the Rams ahead 50-28 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Rogers had a senior duo take command as Treyshawn Weatherspoon dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists and Jamaire Grant went 7 of 10 on his way to 18 points and five steals. That's the most assists Weatherspoon has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zaishawn Simmons, who posted ten points.

Rogers was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Rogers has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Bethel, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Rogers will host Curtis at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Curtis knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Rogers likes a good challenge. Bethel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
