The Rio Vista Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 41-26 bruising from Italy. Rio Vista has struggled against Italy recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Italy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landry Janek out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Amyriah Johnson, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Rio Vista has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-23 record this season. As for Italy, their win bumped their record up to 10-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Vista's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hamilton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games. As for Italy, they will head out on the road to square off against Frost at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Frost's defense has only allowed 28.9 points per game this season, so Italy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
