Basketball Game Preview: Newfound Regional Bears vs. Inter-Lakes Lakers

The Newfound Regional Bears will challenge the Inter-Lakes Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Newfound Regional knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Inter-Lakes likes a good challenge.

Last Monday, Newfound Regional didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Lin-Wood, but they still walked away with a 64-58 win.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Inter-Lakes, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past Berlin, posting a 53-25 victory.

Newfound Regional has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Inter-Lakes, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-3.

Newfound Regional came up short against Inter-Lakes when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 47-38. Can Newfound Regional avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
