Warren Township extended their winning streak to eight on Wednesday, bumping them up to 16-5. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Stevenson Patriots a 5-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in April.

As for Stevenson, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Stevenson's part, Ava Potempa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. Potempa has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warren Township will take on Wauconda at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Stevenson, they will face off against Hersey at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
