Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Upperman's 12th in Last 15 Outings

Upperman won the last time they faced Livingston Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bees walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Wildcats.

Alec Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Upperman let Evan Huddleston and Karsen Holroyd run wild. Huddleston went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Holroyd went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI Huddleston has posted since back in March of 2024. Julian Llano was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Upperman hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.

Upperman has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Livingston Academy, they moved to 10-8 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Upperman beat the Wildcats by a score of 12-1 later that day.
