Basketball Game Preview: Madison Southern Eagles vs. Corbin Redhounds

The Madison Southern Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Corbin Redhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Madison Southern is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since February 2, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-46 victory over Pineville. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Corbin). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Williamsburg 95-18. Given the Redhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 218th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Madison Southern's record is now 8-10. As for Corbin, their record now sits at 15-7.

Madison Southern came up short against Corbin in their previous matchup back in December of 2016, falling 74-69. Can Madison Southern avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
