Softball Recap: Westfield Takes Down Ranked Agawam

Westfield faced Agawam in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Bombers walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Brownies. That's more bragging rights for the Bombers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Westfield's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average this season. As for Agawam, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westfield will host Taunton at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Agawam, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Easthampton/Hampshire at 4:00 p.m.
