Baseball Recap: Prairie Takes a Loss

Prairie was the 5-1 winner over Seton Catholic when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Falcons fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Prairie got a good showing from Maddux Blunt, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Blunt has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Olin Cecil was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Isaac Watson, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Prairie's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Seton Catholic, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Prairie didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Heritage on the 21st. As for Seton Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 33-4 victory against Fort Vancouver on the 22nd.
