Volleyball Recap: Forbush Takes a Loss

Forbush was the 3-0 winner over South Stokes when they last played one another back in August of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Falcons fell just short of the Sauras by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

Forbush took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-28, 20-25, 25-20, 15-12.

Caroline Johnson paced Forbush's offense, picking up 15 kills. Johnson got some help from Kendyl Berrier and her 29 assists. Johnson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Ellie White had an outrageously good game for South Stokes as she had 51 digs and two aces. White is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Carrick, who had 15 digs.

Forbush's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for South Stokes, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forbush will host East Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Stokes, they will welcome West Stokes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
