Madonna's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Greater Beckley Christian as they made off with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Blue Dons, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Koleton Grishkevich, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Lazear, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Catholic Central came up short against Cameron on Friday and fell 12-7. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Michael DiCarlo put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one RBI.
In other batting news, Michael Fabbro made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That stolen base was his first of the season.
Madonna's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Catholic Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Catholic Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Madonna hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. It's a different story for Catholic Central, though, as they've only averaged .204. Will they be able to contain Madonna's hitters?
Madonna couldn't quite finish off Catholic Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 and fell 9-7. Can the Blue Dons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
