Softball Game Preview: Prairie Ridge Wolves vs. McHenry Warriors

Prairie Ridge is 2-8 against McHenry since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Prairie Ridge will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Prairie Ridge nor Central made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Wolves came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 4-1.

Meanwhile, McHenry fell victim to Jacobs and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 6-0 to the Eagles. That makes it the first time this season the Warriors have let down their home crowd.

Brooke Snyder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, McHenry saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danica McCarthy, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

McHenry's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Prairie Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Prairie Ridge got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against McHenry by a conclusive 13-3 score. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
