Softball Recap: Clay's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Notre Dame, Clay was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the East Tartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 last Thursday.

Maddie Penix was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Emma Walker also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Clay's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-8. As for East, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coincidentally, Clay and East will both be playing Oak Hill the next time they take the field. The Tartans will head out to face the Oaks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
