Volleyball Recap: Bayard Comes Up Short

Bayard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Gordon-Rushville Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Thursday.

While Bayard was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-17.

Alexi Nesbitt paced Bayard's offense, picking up six kills. Nesbitt got some help from Layni Nesbitt and her ten assists. Emilee Houchin controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Bayard's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Gordon-Rushville, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Bayard has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Mitchell on the 20th. As for Gordon-Rushville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Alliance on the 23rd.
