Baseball Recap: Somerville Comes Up Short

Somerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Mumford Mustangs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yeguas of the 19-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Somerville's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Mumford, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

While Somerville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
