Softball Recap: River Mill Comes Up Short

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, River Mill was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chatham Charter Knights. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

River Mill saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Melton, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

River Mill's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Chatham Charter, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

River Mill didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-0 loss against North Duplin on the 6th. As for Chatham Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-0 defeat against Clover Garden School on the 1st.
