Volleyball Recap: Southwestern Heights Takes a Loss

Southwestern Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Lakin Broncs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on September 9th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-21.

Lacie Banman paced Southwestern Heights' offense, picking up five kills. Banman got some help from Mariah Mendoza and her ten assists. Banman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Southwestern Heights now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Lakin, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3.

Southwestern Heights wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Stanton County on the 30th. As for Lakin, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Wichita County on the 30th.
