Baseball Game Preview: Temescal Canyon Titans vs. Pacifica Christian Tritons

The Temescal Canyon Titans will take on the Pacifica Christian Tritons at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Temescal Canyon 2.4, Pacifica Christian 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Pacifica Christian will be up against a hot Temescal Canyon team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Titans put the hurt on Redlands with a sharp 10-2 win on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Colby Nobel looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brock Dixon and Jayden York did most of the damage at the plate: Dixon went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while York went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave York a new career-high. Jonathan Reece also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pacifica Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let Western Christian get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Pacifica Christian is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Temescal Canyon, they pushed their record up to 18-3-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
