Softball Recap: James River Midlothian Comes Up Short at Home Against Manchester

James River Midlothian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 18-2 to the Manchester Lancers on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Rapids in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost three in a row.

Hailey Metacarpa made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. James River Midlothian will challenge Monacan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Manchester, they are taking a road trip to challenge Glen Allen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
