Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake View). They breezed past the Big Spring Steers to the tune of 76-49 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Chiefs/Maidens, who have now won three contests in a row.
Izaiah Rios produced another solid effort rushing for 162 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries, while also picking up 62 receiving yards. His longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards. Braylon White was another key player, picking up 122 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lake View was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 22 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Rios, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Lake View's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Big Spring, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
