Softball Recap: West-Oak Takes a Loss

West-Oak has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.9 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 12-5 to the Crescent Tigers. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cassie Stoltzfus and Kylie Perkins stepped up to the plate in a big way. Stoltzfus went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Perkins went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Kaylee Dickson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for West-Oak and nudges their season record down to 7-3. As for Crescent, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. West-Oak is set to square off against their familiar foe Pendleton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Crescent will face off against rival Belton-Honea Path at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are on an eight-game streak of home wins, the Bears a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
